Community Mental Health Nurse

About the role

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate mental health nurse to join the Mental Health & Wellness Team (West) of the North East London NHS Foundation Trust. The role is community‑based and focuses on delivering person‑centred, recovery‑focused care to individuals with a range of mental health and wellbeing needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assess service users, develop care plans and deliver both physical and mental health interventions.
• Manage a caseload of complex, challenging clients and coordinate with multidisciplinary team members and partner agencies.
• Use electronic recording systems to document assessments, interventions and outcomes.
• Identify and manage risk, including safeguarding of vulnerable adults.
• Provide supervision to junior staff, mentor students and contribute to research and education programmes.

Required profile

• Registered mental health nurse with a commitment to high‑quality, safe care.
• Excellent communication and clinical judgement.
• Flexibility to work according to service demands and willingness to work onsite.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems.
• Good IT literacy for documentation and information sharing.
