Community Support Worker & Driver

About the role

We are looking for a caring Community Support Worker who can also drive to provide practical and emotional assistance to adults with mental health needs and learning disabilities in Barrow-in-Furness. You will work independently, visiting service users in their homes or community settings, helping them live as independently as possible.

Key responsibilities

• Visit service users in their homes or other settings to deliver support in line with individual care plans.
• Assist with daily living tasks such as cooking, attending appointments, medication management and budgeting.
• Provide emotional support and build therapeutic relationships with service users.
• Work flexibly on a rota, covering full‑time (37.5 hrs) or part‑time (22.5 hrs) shifts.
• Maintain accurate records and report any concerns to senior staff.

Required profile

• Compassionate and able to work autonomously using your own initiative.
• Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle (mileage allowance provided).
• Eligibility to work in the UK and residence in the UK.
