Company Secretary (Governance) Trainee Programme

About the role

Flex Legal is launching its third cohort of Company Secretary (Governance) trainees. The programme is aimed at academically strong graduates from diverse backgrounds who wish to qualify as a Company Secretary and develop a strategic advisory career at the intersection of business and the board.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organising and supporting board and committee meetings, including preparation of board packs and minute taking.
• Support the annual report and accounts process and help coordinate the Annual General Meeting, liaising with registrars and preparing documentation.
• Make statutory filings with Companies House, maintain statutory records and update in‑house compliance software to meet deadlines.
• Research regulatory and legislative changes to keep the team informed on governance requirements.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with strong academic record and interest in business law and corporate governance.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and communication abilities.
• Motivation to work with senior leadership, finance, legal and investor‑relations teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in drafting documents and minutes.
• Familiarity with statutory filing procedures and compliance software.
