Complex Needs Learning Support Assistant – West London

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Complex Needs Learning Support Assistant to work with learners who have a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The role is based in West London and focuses on delivering high‑quality educational, personal care and healthcare support to enable learners to achieve their goals safely.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for learners with complex SEND, including PMLD, autism and sensory impairments.
• Assist learners in accessing educational, vocational, sensory and life‑skills activities.
• Deliver personal care such as toileting, feeding, dressing and hygiene.
• Administer medication and support PEG feeding in line with healthcare plans.
• Perform manual handling duties using hoists, slings, wheelchairs and other specialist equipment.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, healthcare professionals and families.
• Promote independence, communication, wellbeing and inclusion.
• Maintain accurate records of support, medication and care.
• Follow safeguarding, health‑and‑safety, infection‑control and risk‑management procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience supporting children or young adults with SEND and complex needs.
• Experience delivering personal care and administering medication.
• Training and practical experience in manual handling and use of moving equipment.
• Ability to work calmly in a challenging environment and commitment to safeguarding.
