Complex Needs Support Assistant – SEN School (Lewisham)

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Complex Needs Support Assistant to join a highly inclusive SEN school in Lewisham. The role is full‑time, term‑time only, and starts in September, offering the chance to make a direct impact on children with profound and multiple learning difficulties.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with complex learning needs.
• Assist children with PMLD and MLD in personal care, mobility and daily routines, ensuring dignity.
• Adapt and deliver learning activities to suit individual abilities.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists and families to support holistic development.
• Help create a safe, nurturing and engaging classroom environment.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach, especially in challenging situations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build meaningful relationships.
• Proactive mindset with willingness to learn and take initiative.
• Enhanced Child Workforce DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
