Compliance Advisor

About the role

We are seeking a Compliance Advisor to join a specialist property law business. The role goes beyond simple check‑lists, requiring you to actively monitor, assess, and strengthen compliance practices across the firm while working closely with senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular monitoring reviews across departments against CLC/SRA, AML, and GDPR requirements.
• Serve as the first point of contact for compliance queries, providing practical and timely advice.
• Identify emerging risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Support the development and improvement of compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain and enhance the firm’s risk register and investigate potential breaches.
• Lead internal audits, file reviews, and compliance assessments, preparing detailed reports on findings and trends.
• Own AML, CDD, and KYC processes, monitor regulatory changes, and keep accurate compliance records.
• Deliver compliance training programmes and promote a culture of ethical behaviour.

Required profile

• Strong working knowledge of CLC, SRA, AML, and/or GDPR frameworks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Analytical, solution‑focused, and proactive mindset.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Confidence to challenge constructively and influence senior leaders.
• High degree of integrity and discretion.
• Strong report‑writing and documentation skills.
