About the role

This newly created position sits within a well‑established law firm in Birmingham, reporting to the Head of Compliance. The role supports the firm’s compliance framework across a diverse client base, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

Advise on SRA standards and regulations.
Review client AML due diligence and provide guidance.
Establish corporate structures and trace ultimate beneficial owners.
Handle Source of Wealth and Source of Funds queries.
Review and update compliance policies, plans and procedures.
Support DPA and UK GDPR compliance activities.
Run conflict checks, PEP and sanctions screening.
Deliver compliance inductions and training.
Assist with Lexcel accreditation and annual AML audits.

Required profile

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a compliance function within a law firm, at advisor or analyst level.
Strong working knowledge of SRA standards, AML regulations, DPA and UK GDPR.
Proven ability to make decisions on compliance matters.
Excellent communication, research and organisational skills.
