Compliance Manager

About the role

The Compliance Manager will ensure that Freightserve meets all regulatory, safety, contractual and ethical standards. Working closely with the Head of Legal and external experts, you will develop and maintain a robust risk and compliance framework across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, conduct and oversee internal and external audits to verify adherence to regulatory, contractual and organisational requirements.
• Support teams with remedial actions arising from audit findings and design a regular audit cycle.
• Liaise with governmental bodies, regulatory agencies and external consultants to manage compliance matters.
• Audit customs clearance processes, MOU procedures and support Civil Aviation Authority compliance activities.
• Maintain authorisations, accreditations and act as the primary contact for compliance queries.
• Collaborate with an external Health & Safety consultant to ensure UK H&S legislation is followed and to implement related initiatives.
• Lead anti‑bribery, modern slavery and anti‑corruption programmes and chair risk committee meetings.

Required profile

• Proven experience in compliance, audit or risk management within logistics, transport or a related sector.
• Strong understanding of UK health and safety law and civil aviation regulations.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and external advisors.

Required skills

• Knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation.
• Familiarity with Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) requirements.
• Understanding of customs clearance procedures and Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) obligations.
• Experience with anti‑bribery, modern slavery and anti‑corruption compliance frameworks.
