Compliance Manager – Remote (UK)

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing fintech specialising in mortgage solutions, is looking for a remote‑first Compliance Manager to protect the business and its customers while supporting ongoing innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage a comprehensive compliance framework, policies and procedures for the mortgage industry.
• Investigate and resolve compliance‑related complaints swiftly and effectively.
• Monitor regulatory changes and industry best practices to keep the compliance strategy current.
• Provide expertise across compliance monitoring, conduct risk, TCF, SMCR and FCA reporting.
• Guide and train brokers, underwriters and leadership on compliance matters.
• Review mortgage loan documentation, disclosures and advertising for clarity, fairness and compliance.
• Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies, handling reports and documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of compliance experience in financial services, preferably mortgages or insurance.
• SMF status – ideally SMF16.
• Strong knowledge of the UK regulatory landscape (FCA, SMCR, TCF).
• Proven ability to identify risks and devise mitigation strategies.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex topics clearly.
• Self‑starter comfortable managing time and priorities in a remote environment.
• Relevant degree or certifications such as CRCM are a plus.
