Computing Teacher (Secondary School)

About the role

A dynamic secondary school in Maidstone is seeking an enthusiastic Computing Teacher to join the team from September. The role is full‑time and temporary, initially covering the September‑to‑Christmas period with strong potential for extension into 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Computing lessons for Key Stages 3 and 4 in line with the national curriculum.
• Teach programming concepts, computational thinking and digital literacy.
• Assess, track and report student progress accurately.
• Contribute to the development of the Computing/ICT curriculum.
• Promote safe and responsible use of technology within the school.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Strong subject knowledge in Computing or Computer Science.
• Experience teaching in a secondary school environment (early‑career teachers welcome).
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Passion for inspiring students in STEM and digital skills.

Required skills

• Ability to teach programming languages such as Python (desirable).
