Construction Lecturer – Teach Construction & Built Environment

About the role

We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Construction Lecturers to deliver courses for Further Education providers across South East England. In this role you will inspire learners pursuing careers in construction and the built environment, helping them develop both technical knowledge and practical skills.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high‑quality construction and built‑environment lessons for learners of varying levels.
• Assess, monitor and record student progress, providing constructive feedback and academic support.
• Maintain accurate teaching records in line with college requirements.
• Create an inclusive, positive classroom environment and manage health & safety during practical activities.
• Support learners in developing industry‑relevant skills and contribute to their achievement, retention and progression.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or qualification in Construction, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Services, Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• Teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training.
• Proven experience teaching construction in FE, HE, secondary or adult learning settings.
• Strong classroom management, communication skills and an Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
• Passion for construction education and ability to motivate learners of diverse abilities.
