Construction Planner

About the role

We are looking for a Construction Planner to join Watkin Jones in Chester Business Park. You will partner with Operations Directors to develop and manage detailed project programmes from tender through to completion, ensuring high‑profile residential‑for‑rent projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and maintain logic‑linked critical‑path programmes, method statements and logistics plans.
• Collaborate with site teams, project managers, engineers and architects to keep projects aligned with objectives.
• Generate progress reports, forecasts and mitigation strategies for senior management.
• Identify risks early and implement practical solutions to protect timelines and budgets.
• Work with the Costing team to optimise resource allocation and cost efficiency.
• Travel to sites nationwide as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in construction planning, preferably within PBSA, BTR or similar sectors.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Problem‑solving mindset with attention to detail.

Required skills

• ASTA construction project management software.
• Critical path analysis.
