Construction Project Manager (18‑month fixed‑term)

About the role

We are seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead an 18‑month fixed‑term project for a leading Defence and Aerospace client in Ampthill. The role involves overseeing complex, bespoke new‑build construction, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to high standards, and requires high‑level MOD security clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Engage and collaborate with all project stakeholders.
• Manage and administrate contractor, consultant and client meetings.
• Ensure each project stage is completed on schedule, on budget and to a high standard.
• Record, monitor and report progress regularly to the facilities team.
• Verify construction activities meet the accepted brief.
• Review, challenge and approve contractor invoices based on work completed.
• Identify and resolve unexpected issues, escalating when necessary.

Required profile

• In‑depth knowledge of construction industry procedures, materials and project management principles.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Familiarity with quality, health and safety standards.
• Experience working in a high‑security environment.
• Project management certification.
• Strong stakeholder management skills.
