About the role
Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL) is seeking a Construction Project Site Supervisor on a fixed‑term contract to support the delivery of ferry terminal and harbour infrastructure projects across Scotland. You will oversee site activities, ensure quality and safety compliance, and work closely with project managers and contractors.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise construction works for the Small Vessel Replacement Programme (SVRP) and other CMAL projects at sites such as Colintraive, Portavadie, Largs, Tarbert Loch Fyne, Tobermory, Lochaline and Kilchoan.
- Act as the custodian for on‑site quality, monitoring compliance with the scope of works and contractual requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, external contractors and engineering consultants to ensure RAMS and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) are agreed and executed.
- Conduct regular site inspections, identify and mitigate safety hazards, and manage incident response.
- Record and report variations affecting delivery dates, budget or quality.
- Provide weekly updates and monthly progress reports to the Project Manager.
- Review Principal Contractor and Sub‑contractor RAMS, ensure CDM Regulation compliance, and maintain up‑to‑date HSE documentation.
Required profile
- Motivated, professional and diligent with a proactive, creative approach to problem solving.
- Ability to work flexibly both within a team and autonomously.
- Minimum 5 + years’ experience supervising construction projects using NEC3/NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contracts.

What we offer
- Salary range £39,334 – £54,084 (Grade 6) per annum.
- Fixed‑term contract for 2 years with possible extension.
