Construction Project Site Supervisor

About the role

Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited is seeking a Construction Project Site Supervisor on a two‑year fixed‑term contract to oversee the delivery of ferry terminal and harbour infrastructure projects across Scotland. You will act as the on‑site quality custodian, ensuring works meet scope, safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise construction activities for the Small Vessel Replacement Programme and other CMAL projects at multiple sites.
• Monitor compliance with the contract scope, quality standards, health & safety regulations and environmental procedures.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, contractors, engineering consultants and the on‑site construction team.
• Ensure RAMS and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) are agreed, implemented and documented.
• Conduct regular site inspections, identify hazards, manage incidents and report variations affecting schedule, budget or quality.
• Prepare weekly updates and monthly progress reports for the Project Manager.
• Maintain CDM compliance and keep all HSE documentation up to date.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction site supervision, preferably on marine or infrastructure projects.
• Proactive problem‑solver with the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication skills and the capacity to liaise with external contractors and regulatory bodies.

Required skills

• NEC3 and NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) administration.
• Development and implementation of RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statements).
• Preparation and management of Inspection & Test Plans (ITP).
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations and health‑safety legislation.
