Construction Solicitor (5+ PQE) – Commercial Litigation Focus

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Construction Solicitor with at least 5 years post‑qualification experience to join a growing construction team in Chelmsford. The role offers the chance to work on a wide range of contentious construction matters for developers, contractors, insurers and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on construction and engineering disputes, including contract interpretation, defects, delay and payment issues.
• Manage adjudications, arbitrations, litigation and other dispute‑resolution processes.
• Draft pleadings, correspondence, settlement agreements and other legal documentation.
• Collaborate with experts, counsel and clients to deliver commercially focused solutions.
• Support business development and maintain strong client relationships.
• Supervise junior lawyers where appropriate.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with 5+ years PQE.
• Experience in commercial litigation and high‑value contractual disputes.
• Interest in specialising in construction law, even if prior construction experience is limited.
• Strong analytical, drafting and advocacy skills.
