Construction Solicitor (Non‑Contentious) – 5+ PQE

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Solicitor to join a leading national law firm’s Construction & Engineering team in Birmingham. The role focuses on non‑contentious construction matters across major development, infrastructure and real‑estate projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide commercial legal advice on non‑contentious construction, regeneration and infrastructure schemes.
• Draft, review and negotiate standard form contracts such as JCT and NEC, as well as development agreements and related project documentation.
• Support property finance, corporate transactions and process‑plant contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with a national team and mentor junior lawyers.
• Optionally assist with contentious construction work where required.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in non‑contentious construction law.
• Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts and experience with development agreements.
• Background in private practice or in‑house legal teams.
• Excellent technical ability, commercial awareness and client relationship skills.
