Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist (Neurodevelopmental Team)

About the role

This permanent consultant position provides specialist child and adolescent psychiatry services within the Hounslow CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Team. The post holder will co‑lead the team alongside another consultant, reporting to the CAMHS Clinical Director and ultimately to the Trust’s Chief Medical Officer.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive general mental health assessments for children and adolescents.
• Conduct specialist assessments for ASD and ADHD, and provide therapeutic interventions.
• Share overall responsibility for the Neurodevelopmental Team, including leadership of ASD and ADHD pathways.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver training, consultation and case management.
• Contribute to service planning, job planning and contractual compliance.
• Develop and pursue special clinical interests such as tic disorders, ASD home treatment or safeguarding.

Required profile

• Qualified Consultant Psychiatrist with experience in child and adolescent mental health.
• Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and lead clinical pathways.
• Commitment to service development and adherence to NHS standards.

Required skills

• Expertise in assessment and management of ASD and ADHD.
• Proficiency in delivering therapeutic interventions for young people.
