Consultant Microbiology - Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary

About the role

Direct Medics is recruiting a Consultant Microbiologist for Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary. The post is temporary, with dates from 2 November until the end of January 2027 initially, on a Monday to Friday 9-5 rota. The department wants someone who can come on site and work, though hybrid working may be considered; on-site presence is preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Authorise laboratory reports
• Provide clinical advice
• Attend multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings
• Handle laboratory enquiries

Required profile

• Valid GMC registration with a full licence to practice
• Right to work in the UK
• At least 6 months of medical experience in this role or a similar one within the UK
