Content Officer – 12-Month Fixed-Term (Maternity Cover)

About the role

The Content Officer will join the Communications, Content & Channels team on a 12‑month maternity‑cover contract. This role is ideal for an experienced writer and editor who can turn complex scientific and technical topics into clear, engaging content for diverse audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Write, edit and publish content for the website, social media, campaigns and communications materials.
• Act as guardian of tone of voice and editorial standards, reviewing and approving content from colleagues and external contributors.
• Interview scientists, engineers and business leaders to translate complex scientific and technical topics into clear, engaging stories for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Produce press releases, case studies, blogs and other media assets, and support media‑relations activities.
• Lead content‑focused discussions with stakeholders, guiding subject‑matter experts to create audience‑centric material.
• Maintain and update website and digital content, monitor performance metrics and suggest improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a writer, editor or communications professional, preferably with scientific or technical content.
• Ability to work independently, lead conversations with stakeholders and challenge contributors when needed.
• Exceptional command of English with a strong eye for detail and storytelling.
• Comfortable managing multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
