Contentious Probate Solicitor (NQ–3 PQE)

About the role

G2 Legal Limited is seeking a Contentious Probate Solicitor to join its specialist litigation team. The role offers the chance to work on a wide range of inheritance and trust disputes, developing client relationships and technical expertise within a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients from the outset of probate matters through negotiation, mediation or court proceedings.
• Handle Inheritance Act claims, will validity disputes, executor and trustee conflicts, and trust litigation.
• Manage removal and replacement of personal representatives and trustees.
• Draft pleadings, correspondence and settlement strategies; prepare matters for trial when settlement is not possible.
• Liaise directly with clients, experts, counsel and attend mediations and hearings.

Required profile

• Solicitor with NQ to 3 years PQE experience in contentious probate or related litigation.
• Strong understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical and drafting abilities.
• Organised, detail‑oriented and able to manage own workload while seeking guidance when needed.
• Commercial, pragmatic approach to dispute resolution and genuine interest in a long‑term career in probate and trust litigation.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules.
• Experience handling contentious probate matters.
