Contract Manager – Building Refurbishment

About the role

Axis CLC is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to lead building refurbishment contracts across its Operations Team. You will be responsible for delivering projects on time, to specification and to the high standards expected by the company and its clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead operational delivery of planned building refurbishment contracts.
• Manage and motivate operatives and subcontractors to meet KPIs, quality, compliance and safety targets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, residents and internal stakeholders.
• Oversee contract performance, financial results, compliance and customer satisfaction.
• Conduct site inspections and performance reviews to ensure progress, quality and specification compliance.
• Plan resources and workflow to maximise efficiency and minimise disruption to residents.
• Ensure all works comply with Health & Safety legislation, RAMS and company procedures.
• Chair progress meetings, deliver toolbox talks and drive continuous improvement.
• Manage contract variations, valuations and documentation with accurate financial reporting.
• Support commercial teams with forecasting, profitability reviews and business planning.
• Lead, mentor and develop teams to achieve excellence in service delivery.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or Project Manager in building refurbishment, social housing or property maintenance.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to balance commercial performance and service delivery.
• Solid technical understanding of planned refurbishment works.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills with clients, building users and teams.
