Contract Supervisor – Grounds Maintenance

About the role

Accuro Environmental is seeking a proactive Contract Supervisor to lead a mobile grounds‑maintenance crew in Watford. Reporting to the Grounds Maintenance Account Manager, you will be the day‑to‑day right‑hand, ensuring service delivery to a demanding local authority client.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and allocate daily tasks for 11‑15 operatives across multiple housing and community sites.
• Visit sites regularly to monitor standards, resolve issues and keep the team on schedule.
• Manage performance, attendance and conduct with fairness and consistency.
• Maintain strong on‑site relationships with client representatives and act as deputy in the Account Manager’s absence.
• Prepare accurate weekly and monthly operational reports.
• Deliver toolbox talks and support health‑and‑safety compliance.
• Monitor contract finances, flag variations and identify commercial opportunities.

Required profile

• Recent experience supervising a mobile, blue‑collar workforce of ten or more people.
• Proven ability to lead with authority without relying on higher management.
• Experience delivering services to public‑sector or local‑authority clients.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
