Contract Works Manager (Major Work)

About the role

As the Contract Works Manager for Major Works, you will lead large‑scale investment projects for Plymouth Community Homes, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard while keeping residents informed and minimizing disruption.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and inspire a high‑performing team.
• Oversee programmes from planning through to completion, meeting quality, cost and timescale targets.
• Manage budgets, monitor performance and produce clear reporting.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, internal colleagues and external stakeholders.
• Continuously improve service delivery to achieve better value and customer experience.

Required profile

• A confident leader who can motivate and develop high‑performing teams.
• Proven experience delivering major works, capital programmes or large‑scale property improvements.
• Financially astute with strong governance and reporting capabilities.
• Passionate about excellent customer service and value for money.
• Collaborative with the ability to build trust across partners.
