Contracts Manager

About the role

This position is for an experienced professional to manage contracts and lead mechanical estimating for a well‑established M&E organisation. The role is office‑based with daily commuting to Epsom and focuses on delivering accurate, competitive cost proposals for mechanical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications and documentation to understand scope and mechanical requirements.
• Analyse engineering drawings, blueprints and technical documents to produce precise estimates.
• Prepare competitive budgets covering mechanical systems, labour, materials, equipment, permits and related costs.
• Perform take‑offs and quantity surveys for HVAC, plumbing, piping and fire‑protection systems.
• Identify potential risks and propose effective mitigation solutions.
• Evaluate bids and proposals from subcontractors and suppliers.

Required profile

• Proven experience in the mechanical and electrical industry.
• In‑depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping and fire‑protection systems.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent mathematical and analytical capabilities.
• Effective negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing.
• Familiarity with building codes, regulations and industry best practices.
