Contracts Manager

About the role

CHAP’s Tayside office is recruiting an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee multiple sites, ensuring all operations comply with CHAP processes and procedures. The role is key in enforcing strong Health & Safety and Quality Assurance standards, while managing budgets and programmes to meet contract requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Overall management including programme progress, cost control, direct labour management and management of sub‑contractors.
• Liaising with project design teams to ensure timely design information release.
• Designing project programmes by studying specifications, determining construction methods and scheduling logical steps.
• Conducting regular site inspections to ensure safety, compliance with building codes and organised work.
• Coordinating with public utilities, local authorities and NHBC to secure necessary orders and consultations.
• Monitoring statutory notices, fire escape signs and workplace safety postings.
• Managing sub‑contractors throughout the contract lifecycle, including safety, quality, performance and traffic/storage plans.
• Chairing and recording weekly sub‑contractor meetings.
• Investigating site damage, accidents or delays and ensuring proper procedures.
• Overseeing project conclusion, including operation and maintenance information, defect resolution and record archiving.

Required profile

• CSCS Card.
• Driver’s licence.
• In‑depth experience within the construction industry.
• Previous roles as Contracts Manager, Project Manager, Senior Site Manager or similar.
• Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
• Computer literacy – proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Minimum 2 years’ management experience including strategic planning and directing projects.
• Ability to confront and challenge difficult situations proactively and implement change.
