Control Systems Engineer – PID Loops & Safety

About the role

Join a global leader in industrial automation as a Control Systems Engineer focused on PID loops and functional safety. You will program and commission distributed control systems for high‑risk sectors such as chemical, pharmaceutical and oil & gas, while receiving specialist training and the opportunity to gain TÜV certification.

Key responsibilities

• Program and configure distributed control systems (DCS) and PLCs for industrial automation projects.
• Commission control solutions on‑site and offshore, including travel periods of up to two weeks.
• Provide troubleshooting and support during installation and hand‑over phases.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure safety integrity levels (SIL) are met.
• Maintain documentation and adhere to functional safety standards.

Required profile

• Controls Engineer, PLC Programmer or similar background.
• Proven ability to program PLCs or DCS platforms.
• Knowledge of PID control loops and functional safety (SIL).
• Valid UK driving licence.
