Controls System Engineer – Contract (Outside IR35)

About the role

We are seeking a Controls System Engineer on a contract basis (outside IR35) to join a leading manufacturer of innovative equipment serving aerospace, wind and automotive sectors. The role involves developing control software for manufacturing machinery, providing technical support and delivering projects from concept to implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Design electrical and control systems for material processing machinery.
• Develop design concepts and produce technical drawings.
• Manage system projects from initial concept through to implementation.
• Interpret customer specifications and research solutions for new product development.
• Provide technical support to clients and internal engineering teams.
• Ensure systems comply with health and safety standards.
• Create programmable logic controllers that meet the agreed technical solution.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Control Systems Engineer.
• Ability to manage projects from concept to delivery.
• Understanding of composites, material processing and polymer manufacturing is advantageous.

Required skills

• PLC programming, preferably Siemens.
• Proficiency with electronic and electrical software tools.
