Conveyancing Lawyer

About the role

Law Staff Limited is expanding its residential property practice in Chelmsford and is looking for an experienced Conveyancing Lawyer. The role offers genuine responsibility for a varied residential conveyancing caseload, client interaction, and business development within a modern office environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a residential property caseload to a high standard on a day‑to‑day basis.
• Advise clients on residential conveyancing matters and provide clear, practical guidance.
• Develop new workload in collaboration with local agents and professionals.
• Maintain high standards in legal reporting, documentation, and compliance with SRA and CQS regulations.
• Support internal audits and ensure confidentiality and data security.
• Supervise and mentor junior colleagues and work collaboratively with remote solicitors when required.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Licensed Conveyancer with at least 5 years PQE in residential property.
• Proven ability to manage a residential conveyancing caseload independently.
• Strong communication, organisational and client‑facing skills.
• Sound understanding of SRA and CQS regulatory frameworks.
• Commitment to legal technology adoption and continuous professional development.

Required skills

• Knowledge of data security and confidentiality requirements.
