Conveyancing Solicitor (Residential)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Residential Conveyancing Solicitor to join our well‑established team in Cheltenham. The position combines fee‑earning responsibilities with leadership and mentoring duties, allowing you to manage a busy residential conveyancing caseload while supporting junior colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied residential conveyancing caseload from instruction to completion, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity, new‑build transactions and shared‑ownership matters.
• Deliver exceptional client care throughout each transaction and meet fee‑earning and billing targets.
• Supervise, guide and provide technical support to two junior members of the conveyancing team.
• Review workflows, ensure timely progression of files and act as the point of contact for technical queries.
• Coach and mentor colleagues to develop their knowledge and confidence.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, estate agents, brokers and other professional contacts.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and firm policies.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor with approximately 5–10 years post‑qualification experience.
• Proven ability to manage a full residential conveyancing caseload independently.
• Strong technical knowledge of all aspects of residential property transactions.
• Experience supervising, mentoring or supporting junior colleagues is highly advantageous.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Outstanding communication and client‑relationship skills.
• Proactive, approachable and collaborative working style.
