Corporate Tax Director

About the role

We are seeking a Corporate Tax Director to lead our corporate tax compliance function within a forward‑thinking accountancy and advisory firm. The role offers senior leadership responsibility, influencing service delivery and shaping the tax practice.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and review corporate tax returns for owner‑managed businesses, SMEs and larger corporate groups.
• Provide technical guidance on corporate tax matters, ensuring high standards across the team.
• Manage workflow, resource planning and operational performance within the compliance team.
• Support clients through complex compliance issues, tax reviews and HMRC interactions.
• Collaborate with partners to drive continuous improvement, enhance systems and support the wider tax strategy.
• Mentor, develop and lead tax team members, fostering a culture of quality and progression.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in UK corporate tax compliance, preferably within a professional services or accountancy firm.
• Strong technical knowledge of corporate tax legislation and compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to manage complex portfolios and lead teams.
• Excellent communication and client‑facing skills with a commercial, solutions‑focused mindset.
• CTA or equivalent professional qualification is highly desirable.
