Corporate Tax Executive – Midlands (Birmingham)

About the role

This position provides professional support to the Corporate Tax department, assisting managers, directors and partners in delivering tax relationship services to a diverse portfolio of clients, including listed companies, multinational groups and private‑equity backed businesses. You will manage both compliance and advisory tax matters across a range of corporate structures.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of a client portfolio, prioritising work and acting as the primary contact throughout the tax cycle.
• Prepare tax computations, returns and calculate liabilities, providing clear advice to clients.
• Produce deferred tax calculations, tax reconciliations and disclosures for statutory accounts.
• Review work prepared by peers and junior team members, offering guidance and training.
• Identify tax planning opportunities and support business development initiatives.
• Collaborate with audit, business solutions and other departments to deliver integrated client services.
• Manage fee agreements, meet deadlines and assist with monthly client billing.

Required profile

• Relevant professional qualification (CTA, ACA or equivalent).
• Strong experience in corporate tax compliance, advisory work and tax planning projects.
• Proven ability to manage a client portfolio, meet deadlines and build effective relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, highly motivated and well‑organised.
