Cost Accountant – Financial Services

About the role

As a Cost Accountant at Marex, you will be responsible for analysing and accurately recording the company’s expenditures. You will develop cost‑control systems, monitor expenses and ensure data from multiple sources is complete and precise.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly cost accounting journals, including complex accruals, pre‑payments and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Review expense coding, identify and correct accounting errors.
• Investigate cost variances across the group and provide explanations.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Product Control, Legal Entity Control and other departments to create necessary journal entries.
• Address cost‑related queries and support audit teams during interim and year‑end audits.
• Assist in developing cost‑control systems and reconciliations with market data, legal and occupancy platforms.
• Support the transfer‑pricing process by identifying costs to be recharged across Marex entities.
• Identify and drive process improvements and automation initiatives.
