Counterbalance Forklift Driver – Temporary

About the role

This temporary position is for an experienced Counterbalance Forklift Driver working at the East London Distribution Centre for Royal Mail, managed by Pertemps. You will be responsible for moving mail and parcels safely and efficiently throughout the warehouse on a full‑time, Monday‑to‑Friday schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a counterbalance forklift to load, unload and relocate mail and parcels.
• Maintain accuracy while handling goods and ensure they are placed in the correct locations.
• Perform daily equipment checks and promptly report any faults.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and site regulations.
• Assist with general warehouse duties as required.

Required profile

• Valid, in‑date Counterbalance forklift licence.
• Previous experience operating a forklift in a busy warehouse or distribution environment.
• Strong awareness of health and safety practices.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work in a fast‑paced setting.
• Flexibility to work overtime or additional shifts when needed.
