Court of Protection Solicitor

About the role

We are seeking a Court of Protection Solicitor to join a specialist team in Swindon. The role offers hybrid working and the chance to manage your own caseload while supporting senior colleagues on complex matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of Court of Protection Property & Affairs matters from instruction to conclusion.
• Support Court‑appointed Deputies with day‑to‑day financial management of clients.
• Work closely with vulnerable clients, families, carers and external professionals.
• Ensure decisions comply with the Mental Capacity Act and clients' best interests.
• Prepare legal documentation, applications and correspondence.
• Maintain accurate records and meet regulatory and internal compliance requirements.
• Assist senior lawyers on higher‑value and more complex cases.

Required profile

• 0‑4 years post‑qualification experience (PQE).
• Previous Court of Protection experience or a seat in Private Client.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and client‑care abilities.
• Compassionate, empathetic approach when dealing with vulnerable clients.
