Court of Protection Solicitor – Private Client

About the role

G2 Legal Limited, a well‑established law firm in Torquay, is seeking a Court of Protection Solicitor or Legal Executive to join its Private Client team. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of vulnerable clients, providing specialist advice on mental capacity and related matters.

Key responsibilities

• Advise vulnerable clients and families on mental capacity issues.
• Prepare and register Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs).
• Manage deputyship applications through the Court of Protection.
• Represent clients in Court of Protection proceedings.
• Provide guidance on health, welfare, safeguarding and financial management.
• Build long‑term relationships with clients, families and professional contacts.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEx).
• Experience in Court of Protection, Care & Capacity, or Mental Capacity law.
• Newly qualified solicitors looking to specialise are welcome.
• Practitioners seeking a long‑term career move.
