Cover Supervisor – Daily Supply Cover in Havering

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to provide daily supply cover in secondary schools across Havering. This full‑time, temporary position starts in September 2026 and offers flexible days throughout the academic year.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise classes when teachers are absent, ensuring students stay on task.
• Deliver pre‑planned activities and worksheets to maintain learning continuity.
• Monitor student behaviour and report any concerns to the teaching staff.
• Maintain a safe and positive classroom environment during the full school day (approximately 8:15 am–4:15 pm).

Required profile

• Experience working with 11‑18‑year‑olds (e.g., graduates, youth workers, sports coaches).
• Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one).
• Two professional references covering the past two years.
• Confident, positive and professional attitude towards young people.

Required skills

• Ability to follow lesson plans and manage classroom activities.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
