Cover Supervisor – Flexible Part‑Time Teaching Support

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to work as Cover Supervisors in secondary schools across Stoke‑on‑Trent and surrounding towns. This flexible, part‑time role offers hands‑on classroom experience without the need for lesson planning or marking.

Key responsibilities

• Lead lessons when the regular teacher is absent
• Deliver work that has already been prepared by the teacher
• Maintain pupil engagement and classroom behaviour
• Complete a brief handover at the end of each session

Required profile

• Confident, reliable and able to work independently
• Experience of working with young people (e.g., coaching, youth work, camps)
• 2+ months of experience engaging with children or teenagers
• A degree or equivalent qualification is preferred but not mandatory
• Willingness to obtain a fully enhanced DBS (assistance available)

Required skills

• Ability to follow prepared lesson plans accurately
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
