Cover Supervisor – Flexible Secondary School Cover (Portsmouth)

About the role
As a Cover Supervisor in Portsmouth you will step in for absent teachers across secondary schools, ensuring lessons continue smoothly. You will create a focused learning environment, support students from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5, and help maintain classroom discipline.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise pre‑assigned lessons when regular teachers are unavailable.
- Build rapport quickly with students and keep them on task.
- Apply school‑approved behaviour management strategies.
- Cover a wide range of subjects across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
- Ensure students complete assigned work and understand key concepts.
Required profile
- UK‑recognised degree or relevant experience in a similar supervisory role.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Based in or able to travel to Portsmouth.
