Cover Supervisor – Flexible Supply & Long‑Term Roles

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Cover Supervisor to step into secondary school classrooms across Aylesbury when teachers are absent. The role offers flexible daily supply, short‑term, long‑term and permanent placements, allowing you to gain varied experience while ensuring continuity of learning.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑planned lessons across a range of subjects using materials prepared by teaching staff.
• Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and manage pupil conduct confidently.
• Encourage active participation and keep pupils engaged throughout the lesson.
• Record attendance, note any concerns and report them promptly.
• Provide clear feedback to the regular teacher after each session.
• Support schools during both planned and unplanned staff absences.

Required profile

• Previous experience in secondary school teaching or classroom support.
• Strong classroom management abilities.
• Confidence to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Professional communication with pupils and staff.
• Flexibility to adapt to differing school policies and routines.
• Commitment to ensuring learning continues in every lesson.
