Cover Supervisor – Flexible Teaching Assignments

About the role

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to provide short‑term and long‑term teaching cover across secondary schools in Brent. This flexible, on‑site role allows you to step into classrooms when teachers are absent, ensuring continuity of learning for students.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lesson plans and maintain classroom order in the teacher’s absence.
• Support students to stay on task and provide additional assistance when needed.
• Apply a range of teaching strategies and behaviour management techniques.
• Collaborate with school staff to meet individual student needs.

Required profile

• Experience of working in a school environment, either as support staff or previous cover supervisor.
• Enhanced DBS certificate and full‑employment check.
• Positive, proactive attitude towards student development.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required for supply‑teacher rates.

Required skills

• Understanding of school routines and classroom management.
