Cover Supervisor – Flexible Teaching Role in Liverpool

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to step into secondary school classrooms across Liverpool when the regular teacher is absent. This flexible, day‑to‑day supply position allows you to work around your own schedule while supporting students aged 11‑16.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise a class in the teacher’s absence, following pre‑set lesson plans.
• Maintain a safe, focused, and positive learning environment.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policy.
• Assist pupils with queries and keep them on‑task.
• Collect and return completed work to the relevant department.
• Report student achievements or behavioural concerns using school systems.

Required profile

• Experience working with groups of children (e.g., teaching assistant, support worker, coach, tutor).
• Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong presence and confidence to manage a classroom.
• Clear, assertive, professional communication skills.
