Cover Supervisor – Hackney (Sept 2026 start)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a reliable Cover Supervisor to work in a secondary school in Hackney, London, starting September 2026. The role offers graduates, aspiring teachers or experienced cover supervisors the chance to gain hands‑on classroom experience in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise whole‑class lessons during teachers’ short‑term absences.
• Deliver pre‑planned lesson material and keep students focused on tasks.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policy.
• Provide feedback to the teaching staff on lesson outcomes.
• Support pupils’ learning and promote a positive classroom atmosphere.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with young people in an educational setting (desirable).
• Excellent communication and classroom management abilities.
• Confident, adaptable and professional approach.
• Degree preferred but not essential.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom.
