Cover Supervisor & Instructor (Southampton)

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic Cover Supervisors and Instructors to support secondary schools in Southampton and surrounding areas. You will step into classrooms when the regular teacher is absent, delivering pre‑prepared lessons and keeping students engaged.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑planned lessons across a range of subjects.
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Ensure students stay on task and achieve learning objectives.
• Adapt to both general cover and subject‑specific assignments as required.

Required profile

• A UK‑recognised degree.
• Experience teaching, tutoring, or working with young people in an educational setting.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to build rapport quickly with students and staff.
• DBS check on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
