Cover Supervisor – Secondary School (Barnet)

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑regarded secondary school in Barnet to find a confident Cover Supervisor to start in September 2026. This temporary position offers the chance to supervise whole classes during short‑term teacher absences, ensuring continuity of learning.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑prepared lesson materials across a range of subjects.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Keep students on task and engaged in their learning.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff after each lesson.
• Support the smooth running of the school day.
• Build positive relationships with students and staff.

Required profile

• Experience working with young people, ideally in an educational setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confidence managing groups of students.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• A positive, professional and resilient approach.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• A genuine interest in education.
