Cover Supervisor – Secondary School (Part‑time/Contract)

About the role

We are looking for a Cover Supervisor to join a large mixed secondary school in Oxted. The role starts in September 2026 and involves providing short‑term cover for classes, ensuring continuity of learning for around 30 students per group.

Key responsibilities

• Provide cover for registration and deliver lessons left by the regular teacher with limited preparation.
• Maintain a positive learning climate using the school’s gold classroom standards and behaviour policies.
• Manage student behaviour fairly and consistently.
• Support students’ self‑esteem through praise and encouragement.
• Assist in the development and implementation of SEN support plans.

Required profile

• Hold a degree or be an aspiring teacher.
• Interest in and knowledge of autism.
• Experience managing distressed behaviours.
• Ability to solve problems quickly while remaining calm.
• Basic IT literacy using Microsoft software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
