Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools in Blackpool

About the role

Hays Education is seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to deliver lessons in secondary schools across Blackpool when the regular teacher is absent. This temporary position offers a flexible way to gain classroom experience and support student learning.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver planned lessons and activities in the teacher’s absence.
• Maintain a positive, engaging learning environment.
• Manage student behaviour and ensure safety.
• Provide feedback to the regular teacher on class progress.

Required profile

• Recent (within 2 years) experience working with children or young people.
• Confidence in managing groups of secondary‑school students.
• Excellent communication and behaviour‑management abilities.
• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Required skills
