Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools in Lewisham

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Lewisham starting in September. This temporary, full‑time position offers the chance to gain classroom experience while helping maintain a productive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise classes during the teacher’s short‑term absence.
• Ensure students stay on task and complete assigned work.
• Maintain a positive and orderly classroom atmosphere.
• Manage behaviour in line with school policies.
• Report lesson progress to teaching staff.

Required profile

• Experience working with young people in schools, coaching, mentoring or similar settings.
• Strong communication and classroom management abilities.
• Confidence leading groups of students aged 11‑18.
• Flexible, professional and positive attitude.
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) and legal right to work in the UK.
