Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools in Whitehaven

About the role

Veritas Education is seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Whitehaven from September 2026. This role offers graduates, aspiring teachers and anyone with experience working with young people the chance to gain valuable classroom experience while supporting student learning during teacher absences.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑set lessons across a range of subjects.
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Keep students engaged and on task, ensuring they complete assigned work.
• Provide daily supply and longer‑term cover assignments as required.

Required profile

• Confidence in leading groups of young people.
• Experience working with children or young people (desirable but not mandatory).
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• Positive, professional and adaptable attitude.
• Graduates and aspiring teachers are encouraged to apply.
