Cover Supervisor (Secondary Schools)

About the role

We are seeking confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to manage secondary school classrooms during teacher absences. You will supervise students, ensure they stay focused on pre‑set work, and support the smooth running of the school day. This position is ideal for individuals with experience working with young people who are considering a future in teaching.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise classes in the absence of the teacher
• Deliver pre‑prepared lesson materials
• Ensure students stay on task and engaged
• Manage classroom behaviour confidently
• Provide feedback to teaching staff after lessons
• Support the overall flow of the school day

Required profile

• Experience working with young people (schools, youth work, coaching, mentoring, etc.)
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Confident, professional presence in the classroom
• Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
